This time around the rapper is in for another triumphant career resurgence that’s closely tied to his newfound ownership of his master recordings. iFani, known for his hit singles like “Ewe” and “Shake,” has faced both highs and lows in his music career.

Taking to Twitter (X), the Ingoma Ezimnandi hitmaker revealed that he is now in the process of re-uploading his music onto the popular streaming service, Spotify. This significant move comes after iFani regained control of his recording masters from Sony. “This. Is. My Spotify account. Just got ALL my masters from Sony. Now I’m rebuilding my home. One brick at a time…” He wrote.
iFani also conveyed that all of his music would soon be available online once again, ensuring that his dedicated fanbase will have the opportunity to purchase and enjoy his music. “Uploading my music to online stores Soon… All my music will be online again!” Wrote iFani.
In his quest to make sure he regains control over all his music, the Xhosa rapper has faced some backlash from record labels that he has worked with. Previous, the 37-year-old rapper called out Universal Music Group after blocking his YouTube money.
“Dear @UMGSA @UMG MILLI, why block my Milli? Milli was licensed to @SonyMusicAfrica for 5 years. The masters have always been mine. So, why block my YouTube money? (I don’t understand),” a disgruntled iFani said.
With ownership of his master recordings firmly secured, iFani stands on the brink of a triumphant return to the spotlight. This newfound control may also expedite the process for the rapper’s upcoming album release.
