The two South African Hip Hop icons have fostered a strong bond in an industry often characterized by rivalries and intense competition fueled by egos and the pursuit of bragging rights. Speaking during the African Throne tour music performance, Cassper Nyovest recalled the time he and Nasty C almost had beef.

The famed rapper disclosed that the perceived rivalry, which never existed, stemmed from both artists using the same beat in their hit tracks, namely Tito Mboweni and NDA. “I wanna tell you a funny story that I shared with him (Nasty C) on the tour. There was a time me and Nasty almost had beef,” Cassper said.

“A few years ago, one of our friends, a talented producer sent me this one beat, the beat is so hot, I did a record to it. But he sent the same beat, the both records dropped, I dont know if you have noticed, but me and Nasty have two hits on the same beats. Somehow we didn’t end up beefing and we stand together and tonight we gonna do both songs,” Cassper added.

Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C have joined forces on several significant tracks in the rap industry. However, the African Throne tour has truly underscored their significance in the rap game, highlighting just how far they’ve come to achieve their current status. The rap artists are gearing up for the next phase of their tour, slated to take place around Europe in 2024.
