Anatii Reflects On Producing Busta Rhymes’ New Track “Open Wide” Feat Chris Brown & Shenseea. Anatii has been a significant contributor to the South African hip-hop scene, showcasing immense influence. However, his prolonged absence from the industry was a notable gap, given the substantial impact and sway he holds.
While the renowned South African rapper hasn’t been consistently releasing music until recently, he has been actively involved behind the scenes, not only within the South African music scene but also making notable contributions to the US hip-hop scene.
Sharing on Instagram, Anatii expressed his honour in producing the latest track “Open Wide” on US rapper Busta Rhymes’ album Blockbusta. Anatii revealed that the opportunity arose during a challenging period amidst the COVID-19 pandemic when he was grappling with feelings of loneliness, borderline depression, and a lack of inspiration. It was during this time that Busta Rhymes reached out to him, inquiring about the songs he had produced for the US rapper.
“had the honor of producing “OPEN WIDE” featuring @chrisbrownofficial & @shenseea for my favorite rapper of all time, the dragon @bustarhymes. at a time during the pandemic when I was feeling alone, borderline depressed and uninspired,” Anatii wrote.
Anatii further mentioned that Busta enthusiastically played one of the songs he had produced, featuring Chris Brown, and there was a palpable sense of excitement due to the exceptional quality of the track.
“Busta texted me one early morning asking me to call him regarding one of the records I produced for him and shared his excitement about breezy jumping on the song then proceeded to play it for me over the phone and I lost my mind.” Anatii added.
The Saga hitmaker shared that listening to the final version of the song he produced was a gratifying experience. He expressed admiration for Busta Rhymes, acknowledging the rapper’s innovative approach to music and his ability to think outside the box.
“I’ve always respected Busta on the highest level when it comes to doing things outside of the box and pushing boundaries when it comes to vocal performance, lyrical content and overall creative direction. happy I finally get to share this with you all. bushman back on them beatz.”
