Usimamane Hints At New Music With A Teaser

Umlazi-born rapper Usimamane has generated renewed attention after sharing a short teaser of new music on his Instagram account. The clip, which appears to have been recorded, offers a muted preview of an unreleased track and has sparked growing anticipation from fans. No title or featured collaborators were disclosed, leaving the content open to speculation.
Usimamane, real name Omuhleumnguni Simamane, rose to prominence in 2024 following the release of his breakout single “Cheque,” which went on to achieve triple-platinum certification in South Africa. The track’s success set the tone for a wave of momentum that continued with the launch of his debut album 20th: Days Before Maud in September of the same year.
The album recorded over 332,000 streams on its second day of release on Spotify South Africa, setting a national record at the time. Among the standout tracks from the project was “Uvalo,” featuring Sjava, which entered the local streaming charts at number four and later climbed to the number one position. The album also featured collaborations with prominent local artists including Nasty C, YoungstaCPT, and K.O, reinforcing Usimamane’s growing stature within South Africa’s hip-hop scene.
In June 2024, Usimamane was named Apple Music’s Rap Life Africa featured artist, an editorial spotlight reserved for rising African talent. By February 2025, he expanded the reach of his music with the deluxe release of 20th: Days Before Maud, which included a track titled “Dangerous II” featuring American rapper Rick Ross. The release was accompanied by a public celebration on social media, coinciding with the milestone of his “Uvalo” music video surpassing three million views on YouTube.
Since then, Usimamane has remained active both as a lead and featured artist. In recent months, he has contributed to a small number of collaborations across the South African rap landscape, maintaining visibility while withholding details of his next solo offering.
With the release of his latest teaser, anticipation has grown for what may be his next official single or project. Known for blending introspective lyrics with melodic trap production, Usimamane’s releases often resonate strongly with youth audiences, especially in his hometown of Umlazi and across the country.
