Nevertheless, in a Facebook update, the renowned producer Makwa disclosed receiving threats from the South African Police Service, originating from individuals who oppose his decision to proceed with the event.
“So the SAPS called me yesterday about the event And The threats I got, from people who work for the government. The nkwari owners are not happy that I didn’t agree to work with them on this event. This industry is the pits.” Makwa said.
Speaking to fans exerting pressure on him to proceed with the show, Makwa emphasized that he cannot compel the situation, as he would bear the consequences of legal repercussions. “To those who take things lite, I can force to host and then when the cops come and shut us down I’ll be the one who must take the blame.” Makwa added.
