The Pretoria-based rapper delivered an introspective body of work to shed light on various issues that he remained mum about for a long time. However, during an interview with YFM at the album launch, the renowned rapper was questioned about any concerns he might have regarding the forthcoming criticism once the album hits the shelves.

“Are you afraid of what people might expect and not get and then the critic, how are you going to take it?” OG Samke asked A-Reece. In response, Reece made it clear that he doesn’t care about any form of criticism because he trusts the people he had in the studio during the making of the project.

“I dont give a damn about the critique, for real because you know why? When I’m in the studio I’m with honest people. The people that I’m around in the studio are honest with me and I value their opinions, because why? They have experience,” A-Reece said.

“Im not about to listen to somebody that’s on their mama’s bed talking about ‘this guy should’ve rap better on this, you dont know nothing about rap,” A-Reece added.

Nevertheless, while A-Reece may not pay much heed to public criticism, he did mention that someone advised him to focus on the positives that can emerge from being criticized. “I was with someone recently, and they said you know what man you have to see the positive in everything.

“So even if I see something negative about my music or what I do man, I just try and take it in the positive light like you know what I need this hate. I need someone to tell me something like this because sometimes you can get too comfortable in the love, I need to stay on my toes sometimes,” a buoyant Reece said.
