Priddy Ugly Bows Out With Reflective Third Album “DUST.” Priddy Ugly, born Ricardo Moloi, has bid farewell to the music scene with his highly anticipated third studio album, “DUST.” The contemplative and introspective endeavour highlights the artist’s evolution and maturation throughout the years, making a profound impact on his fan base and the SA Hip Hop space at large.
“DUST” is a 14-track album that delves into Priddy Ugly‘s personal experiences, struggles, and triumphs, providing listeners with a glimpse into the artist’s journey in the music industry. The reflective body of work comes with contributions from fellow rappers such as Maglera Doe Boy, Tyson Sybateli, Zulu Mecca, Blxckie, Ginger Trill, Thato Saul, K.Keed, MashBeatz and Herc The Lights.
Building up the momentum to the release of his final album, the famed lyricist dropped four lead singles namely; Ntj’aka, So Disrespectful, No Plans and I Ain’t Got The Answers. DUST album completed the rapper’s trilogy from his debut album Soil in 2021 followed by MUD in 2022.
Speaking during an interview on ETV Morning Live, the award-winning rapper expressed that he is hoping that people will not only be entertained by his body of work, rather learn from it. “I’m hoping that people learn from it. Someone said something very profound to me the other day he was like; ‘yo man i understand like why your task is so difficult because you are not just an entertainer, you are not just a creative, you are actually a teacher, and people learn from your music. So when you are writing your music and telling these stories you are actually like teaching people.’
“So I hope people take this album, first i hope they listen to the album and what they take from it i dont know, there are so many different things you know, i just do hope they enjoy the album and it makes them go back and listen to the catalogue you know because it sounds more full circle if you go listen to Soil, to MUD and DUST,” Priddy Ugly said.
The father of one added that the DUST album represents his reflections on the lessons garnered through his experiences as both a rapper and a creative individual. “DUST also at the same time its me burying all the things that I’ve learnt in the last seventeen years of my life and giving birth to new ones,” he added.
