AKA and Tibz met tragic ends in Durban last year outside the Wish Restaurant on Florida Road. The prolonged delay in apprehending their killers has sparked widespread frustration among South African Hip Hop fans and citizens alike. These influential figures in the music industry were taken from us, leaving a void that is deeply felt.

Taking to Twitter (X), Raphael Benza who was AKA‘s business partner expressed that he wants to see real justice for the slain rapper. “We want real #JusticeForAKA,” Benza said. The Vth Season boss’ remarks came after the announcement from the SAPS that they have arrested the suspects as well as the mastermind behind AKA and Tibz killing.

These six (suspects) — they played different roles during the operation. We have the coordinator, who is basically the master of everything. He is in custody. We have two shooters, that we all saw on social media. We have two spotters — one of the spotters was inside the restaurant observing, watching Mr Forbes and his friends — as well as the organiser of firearms and vehicles, because the vehicle used as a getaway and firearms used to shoot, they were all hired,” Mkhwanazi said.

Raphael Benza and his company Vth Season have consistently championed the cause of justice for AKA, actively participating in the movement since the #JusticeForAKA gained traction online last year.
Now, it falls upon law enforcement to ensure that the suspects face their day in court, allowing justice for AKA and Tibz to prevail.
