Taking to Instagram, the rapper shared a snippet of a new music video he is currently working on that has ignited massive excitement amongst SA Hip Hop fans.
In the Instagram post, Yanga Chief also hinted at dropping a new album with a caption; “What should I call my album?” The last time Chief dropped an album was in 2020 when he came through with ‘Pop Star’ Nonetheless, taking from the snippet he shared, fans should brace themselves for a deeply personal journey as Yanga Chief bares his heart on his new track. The teaser paints a picture of raw vulnerability, with the rapper delving into a pivotal moment in his life.
Speaking during an interview on Pop Radio with Ms Cosmo, Yanga Chief said he has no plans to release an album anytime soon but he might only drop because he owes his record label one. “Right now my head is not in a project space. I might drop a project because I actually owe my label one more project then I can go figure myself out,” he said.
“Im really into my single run, like different sounds and whatever, you know. You will see as they start coming out. I feel like a project is so stifling because now I have to decide that I’m working on this sound then I have to go tell everybody about where this sound comes from. I need to give you a whole speech about the sound and how I’m into it, next thing I need to start learning how to dance so many things.”
