CottonFest Joburg 2024 LineUp Missing Five Big-Name SA Rappers. The highly anticipated CottonFest Joburg 2024 has stirred excitement and anticipation among South African music enthusiasts, as the lineup for the event was revealed, it became evident that some prominent names are missing from the roster.
Taking to Instagram, CottonFest announced their final list of artists who will grace the music event in Joburg on the 6th of April 2024. Among the absentees from the lineup are influential figures who have played significant roles in shaping the landscape of South African hip-hop as of late.
Fans expressed their surprise and disappointment upon discovering that artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Blxckie, YoungstaCPT and Priddy Ugly were not included in the festival’s lineup. Most of the SA rappers who are not on the lineup have recently released albums and the fans would’ve been eagerly anticipating to see them perform the songs from their body of work.
As if that is not enough, not having Priddy Ugly who arguably has the song of the year in “Ntja’ka” is something that most fans will fail to comprehend and leave them with more questions than answers.
Nevertheless, there’s still real anticipation for a great time at this year’s CottonFest. SA rappers like A-Reece, Maglera Doe Boy, Big Zulu, Sjava, and the emerging talents of Scumie and Qwellers are set to bring much-needed energy to this year’s festival.
The annual festival, known for celebrating South African music, culture, and fashion, has traditionally attracted top-tier talent from the country’s hip-hop scene. The mood is set for this year’s event despite some rappers won’t be able to perform.
