Mike’s Kitchen Distances Itself from Incident Involving Emtee, Kabelo etc at Mikes Heritage House in a press release that read; “

Mike’s Kitchen wishes to clarify recent reports regarding an incident involving artists Emtee, Kabelo and other local artists at a store named Mikes Heritage House. The store has, for some time now, not been affiliated with Mike’s Kitchen, nor is it owned or operated by Mike’s Kitchen.

We strongly condemn any form of racism, discrimination, or prejudice at any establishment, including the recent incident reported at the Mikes Heritage House. Racism has no place in our society, and we stand firmly against it. It is imperative that all businesses, including Mike’s Kitchen, uphold the values of inclusivity, respect, and equality for all individuals.

We are currently involved in litigation with Mikes Heritage House, for, amongst other things, using a name, look and feel which closely resembles that of Mike’s Kitchen. This legal matter is ongoing, and we apologize for any misunderstanding it may have created. Mike’s Kitchen wishes to restate its steadfast commitment to diversity and tolerance.

While we had no control over activities at Mikes Heritage House, and do not have all the facts, we recognize the necessity of continuing to address issues of racism and prejudice.

Our goal at Mike’s Kitchen is to make our establishments even more welcoming and considerate to all visitors. We are dedicated to learning from the experiences of other stores and brands, and we are taking proactive initiatives to make all customers feel valued and respected at Mike’s Kitchen, which is a true Mzansi brand.
