AKA & Tibz Murder Trial: Alleged ‘Spotter’ Offers Alibi Defence

An alleged “spotter” implicated in the murder case came forward with an alibi defence, adding layers of complexity to the already intricate legal proceedings. According to the ENCA reporter Dasena Thathiah, the alleged spotter Lindokuhle Ndimande said that he wasn’t the spotter on the day AKA and Tibz were brutally killed.

This information came to light during the bail hearing at the Durban Magistrate’s Court, where five out of the seven suspects facing charges in connection with the murder of AKA and his friend Tebello Motsoane were seeking bail.

Ndimande informed the court that he wasn’t acting as a spotter but was stood up by a date on the evening of the crime. “In the case of applicant number 5 Lindokuhle Ndimande who the state has alleges was a spotter at the Wish Restaurant at the time, says he was stood up by a girl that he was waiting for.

“He claims that he had called her several times but she never pitched and the reason why he had only recently opened up a bank account is because he had problems with his other bank account,” Dasena Thathiah reported.

All the suspects involved in the case are confronted with a multitude of charges, including but not limited to committing murder, two counts of murder, five counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and money laundering. These charges paint a grim picture of the alleged involvement of the accused in a series of serious criminal activities.

The murder case, which has garnered significant attention, is scheduled to reconvene next Monday. It is anticipated that additional defendants will be called upon to present their responses to the charges.
