From the initial spark of inspiration to the final delivery to eager listeners, the journey is a formidable climb, requiring dedication, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to the artistic vision. SA rappers are not spared of this reality and Priddy Ugly is one of the rappers who have experienced the grit that comes with the creative aspect of music.

In a candid interview on SlikourOnLife, Priddy Ugly opened up about the hurdles he faced while crafting his latest album, DUST. Revealing a deeply personal struggle, the rapper shared how he battled with low morale and found himself navigating through a challenging period marked by profound sadness and a sense of confinement.

“When I was working on this album I was very sad, I was down, I felt trapped, I felt caged,” he said. Despite grappling with emotional turmoil, the rapper seamlessly persevered, dedicating himself to the musical aspects of his project.

Priddy Ugly made use of the musical prowess of the famed producer Mashbeatz along with Herc The Lights and Shooterkhumz to deliver his last body of work. “Working on the music was seamless you know, me and MashBeatz, majority of the music you are hearing, we had two camps and each of the camps were like 4 or 5 days long. All the music you are hearing was recorded in those 10 days,” he added.
