The rapper who emerged from the Boyz N Buckz collective has played a crucial role in SA Hip Hop’s landscape. However, there’s a faction of fans who remain sceptical about his impact, citing a perceived lack of substantial career growth when compared to his peers in the rap scene.

Taking to Instagram, Stilo Magolide recently took a moment to confront the criticism aimed at him regarding what some perceive as a stagnant music career. “I’ve heard a lot of people this whole week talking about, ‘you’ve been on the come-up for so long, for so many years.'”

“So when it comes to the come-up in life, in any type of come-up, it’s very rare that people pick twice or become number 1 twice or 3 times or whatever, generally, people just get one shot of it. Some of the best positions in the world are just to be comfortable in whatever you are where you can do what you wanna do, live however you wanna live and achieve a lot of things,” he said.

“But yeah, the ultimate goal is to draw down on the highest level, it’s always been dont ever get it twisted. Dont ever think this is a sign of retreat. No, we definitely want what we deserve under God.”

Stilo emphasized that he’s observed the music industry evolve consistently while navigating his own path at his own pace, free from the pressures imposed by the industry. “In all these years of the game, I’ve seen people come, I’ve seen people go, I’ve seen people rise, I’ve seen people fall. I’m constantly doing my things at my own pace and I thank God every day for the ability to wake up,” a content Stilo Magolide said.
