With his significant contributions to SA Hip Hop, the Durban rapper expanded his musical reach by taking his talent to the USA. Recently, he embarked on a tour of Washington DC, New York City, and Raleigh, aiming to captivate a new fanbase and further amplify his presence on the international stage.

Zimoja reported that Zakwe expressed gratitude towards the USA Embassy, acknowledging their support for his tour. He disclosed that the funding for his tour came from the embassy, highlighting their pivotal role in making his international endeavour possible.

“It’s a stamp of approval, that the Hip Hop movement I have started is going far,” he said. “Such things bring joy to me and the rap community as a whole, many have wished me well, and I feel very important and loved.” 

The Thixo Wami hitmaker shared that he has been actively nurturing young aspiring artists in the hip-hop scene, with some of them now signed to labels. He views his tour to the US as a gratifying reward and blessing, seeing it as a culmination of his efforts to give back to the community and support the next generation of talent.

“I have been assisting a lot of upcoming artists at home in KZN,” Zakwe said. “Some are now signed. So, this feels like I am reaping what I have sowed.”
