During an interview on the Juice 2.0 podcast, Bontle recalled the day she and Priddy Ugly made their baby Africa in Ballito Bay in Durban. “The year was 2019, so we were in Durban Ballito, and we were shooting for one of our songs. We had a song titled Something New and so we went to Durban. It was definitely February 2019, then November, surprise surprise,” Bontle said.
Bontle elaborated that nurturing a child is no small feat, requiring dedication and resilience. She emphasized the immense value of having unwavering support, particularly from a devoted and actively involved father, considering it an extraordinary blessing.
“I understand what it means when it says it takes a community to raise a child. So single mothers, single parents, listen you need all the money, all the support and all the praise in the world because it’s such a difficult task doing it alone, and so to have an amazing husband as well, is unreal,” she said.
“A present father who’s there in real time who understands what it means to be there for his child but also for me to say, ‘look you sleep I’ll wake up, I’ll feed her’ that stuff makes all the difference in the world,” she added.
