Priddy Ugly Reacts To Zingah & Rashid’s Comparison Of His & Kid X’s Pen Game
Priddy Ugly Reacts To Zingah & Rashid’s Comparison Of His & Kid X’s Pen Game. The South African hip-hop scene has experienced a surge in talent over the past decade, with a multitude of artists bringing their unique skills to the forefront.
This influx of creativity has naturally led to comparisons among SA rappers, as they navigate the competitive landscape of the country’s rap culture. Zingah and Rashid Kay recently engaged in a lively debate, contrasting the lyrical prowess of Priddy Ugly and Kid X, seeking to determine who possesses the superior pen game between the two rappers.
“Those are different pens, (Priddy Ugly and Kid X), Priddy can’t be as hood as Kid X and Kid X can’t be as poetic as Priddy Ugly. That’s why I’m saying those are two different pens,” Rashid Kay said.
“Wait can Kid X not be as poetic as Priddy? Kid X can get down like that,” Zingah said. In response, Rashid Kay said; “on that lyrical miracle sh*t, saying I can and saying I do those are two different things.”
The debate captured the attention of South African hip-hop fans, who eagerly joined the conversation to voice their opinions. Amidst the discourse, Priddy Ugly chimed in with his perspective, acknowledging that he was once a fervent admirer of Kid X, offering praise to his fellow rapper as a form of recognition and respect. “2010-2016 Kid-X was one of my favourite rappers, in the word,” he said.
Furthermore, the Ntja’ka hitmaker emphasized that his lyrical prowess has evolved significantly over the years, suggesting that any discourse surrounding his penmanship is now antiquated. This assertion sheds light on his personal growth as an artist, underscoring the dynamic nature of artistic development within the rap industry.
“Any reference to my work in relation to my pen is outdated & old news, respectfully. This includes the older catalogue & even my latest release. Without vanity, I just keep getting better. There’s improvement in delivery, structure, annunciation, articulation & intention. The more I grow as a human & the more I develop as a man – the more refined I become as a creative & artist.” Priddy Ugly said.
