“What a year it was. I’ve seen the lowest, I’ve seen the highest. I know how it feels being number 1 & I am very familiar with the 2nd place too.
“I stepped in Khayelitsha & breathed in Dubai. I ate igwinya ekasi & had croissants in France. I caught itaxi to Site C & took a TukTuk in Thailand. I prayed with my priest, connected with my ancestors & also met up the monks. I swam in Monwabisi beach & also bathed in the alps in Switzerland. I’ve worn a handmedown Carvela & also shopped clothes in Italy.
“What a year it was. I read magazines & became a cover of them. I have worked with the smallest artist & the biggest in Africa. I went from talent shows to arenas & festivals. I know not having hype or motion to having a number 1 album in the country. I’ve seen a lot of it.
“What a year it was. So much peace yet so much war. What a year it was. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DYAN. ‘Kwande forever!” Wrote Bravo Le Roux.
