According to ENCA, all charges against the famed rapper were withdrawn by the state at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday morning. Jub Jub was accused of grave offences, such as three rape counts, two attempted murder counts, and one assault offence with the intent to inflict great bodily injury.

The offences allegedly occurred between 2006 and 2010. The rapper was arrested in July of the previous year and has since been released on bail.

Jub Jub has been at the centre of accusations, as he was also accused of sabotaging a business project by his partner Keabetswe Mokoena. Mokoena also accused the TV presenter of women abuse.

“He has been taking unilateral decisions and hiring new crew members every week without my knowledge,” said Mokoena. “And once again, a woman has fallen victim of abuse in the hands of JubJub during 16 Days of Activism,“ she said.

In response to the allegations, Jub Jub firmly denied any wrongdoing in a statement. “It has been brought to my attention that there are certain allegations levelled against me by an individual I believed to be my business partner with regards to the Moses Kotane Arts festival,” said the controversial rapper in a statement.

“I’m not prepared to say much, except that the allegations are not true. When I started the project my vision was to uplift the arts and mend broken dreams in the community of Moses Kotane, where a lot of young people have lost hope. I thought that collaborating with certain individuals would make the vision tangible, but it certainly didn’t.”
