The controversy began when fans dissected the lyrics of “I Can Bet,” suggesting that Priddy Ugly’s verse of the song is aimed at 25K with veiled disses. “Most of y’all never been to jail or seen a court at least never seen a quarter key. Rappers spending money on they grill but they talk is cheap course we not buying all that gangster talk you often speak please,” raps Priddy Ugly.

The segment of Priddy Ugly’s lyrics drew the attention of South African hip-hop commentary from The Hype, leading them to infer that Priddy was alluding to 25K, especially since the latter frequently incorporates themes of gangsterism in his rap.

Responding to the growing controversy, Priddy Ugly took to his Twitter (X) account to address the claims.
The rapper pointed out that it’s the fans who often incite conflicts and foster a negative dynamic among fellow artists. “When I said the listeners & fan bases are instigators & more toxic than the artists, this is exactly what I was talking about… A big part of the reason why the state of hip hop is where it’s at.” He wrote.

Priddy Ugly is known for his consistent stance against toxic relationships within the South African rap industry, making it quite puzzling that he might be entangled in one with fellow rapper 25K. Conversely, this wouldn’t be the first instance of the MUD chanter coming out with fiery disses aimed at fellow rappers, leading to speculation that he may be returning to his previous style as he gears up for the release of his upcoming album.
