Taking to X, Emtee remarked that his fellow rapper Big Zulu doesn’t have a hit song on his extensive music catalogue. “Big Zulu can’t make a hit to save his life,” he wrote. Emtee’s remarks prompted not only fans to criticize his comments, but the veteran hip-hop DJ Zan-D also responded to Emtee indicating that his comments about Big Zulu are not necessary, especially at a time when rappers should be focusing on taking back SA Hip hop to the top.

“Nobody wins when the family fueds. I thought we were all trying to rebuild and take hip-hop back where it belongs: the top!” DJ Zan-D said.

DJ Zan-D wasn’t the only one to respond to Emtee’s comments; Big Xhosa also weighed in, challenging the father of three’s views. He argued that Big Zulu stands out as the sole hitmaker in the South African hip-hop scene at the moment. “This is a lie, out of all you HIP-HOP niggas Big Zulu is the only one still making hits,” wrote Big Xhosa.

Emtee has made it clear that he’s not ready to let go of his beef with Big Zulu. He feels that the “Imali Eningi” hitmaker mocked him for losing his Mercedes-Benz, which had been in several accidents, and took it as Big Zulu laughing at his misfortunes.

“I was involved in five car accidents, that’s why I ain’t got the Merc no more. So a n**g wanna diss me about that sh*t, I tell you it’s personal. I could’ve died in one of them accidents, and n**g is talking about my garage is empty.” Emtee said.
