In his post, Emtee expressed his eagerness to release the project, saying, “Counting the days till DIY3 drops.” The post sent mixed reactions amongst the SA Hip-hop community with some fans pressuring the rapper to announce the release of the album tracklist at least.

DIY3 is the third instalment in Emtee‘s DIY series, following the success of DIY (2015) and DIY 2 (2018). The series has been a defining part of Emtee’s career, showcasing his versatility and deep connection to his roots.
