The Eswatini High Court has given the green light for the extradition of suspects connected to the murder of South African rapper Kiernan Forbes. The critical ruling follows a protracted legal battle and comes as a significant development in the high-profile case.
The two brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande tied to the case are sought by South African authorities for their alleged involvement in the deadly shooting of Forbes and his close friend Tebello Motsoane. The tragic incident occurred in Durban in February 2023. The Manzini Magistrates Court in Eswatini has now ruled on South Africa’s extradition request, concluding the matter on Friday, August 16 2024.
The Ndimande brothers were arrested in Mbabane, Eswatini, for unrelated issues, and are facing extradition to South Africa. Their apprehension came as part of a broader investigation that also includes five other suspects—Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, Lindelani Ndimade, Siyanda Myeza, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, and Lindokuhle Ndimande—who recently appeared in Durban Magistrates Court. The Durban court postponed their case until November 2024 to facilitate further investigation and to allow for the extradition of the Ndimande brothers.
Collectively, the suspects are confronting a daunting array of charges, including two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, among other serious offences. The ongoing legal proceedings aim to ensure justice for Forbes and Motsoane and to address the grave charges against the accused.
