Kwesta took to Instagram to share a deeply emotional moment, posting the track he had collaborated on with the late US rapper, Rich Homie Quan, titled Run It Up. Accompanying the post was a brief but heavy caption: “I’m sorry bro,” offering a glimpse into the profound sorrow he feels after the rapper’s tragic passing.

The famed rapper was reported dead at the Atlanta hospital, according to the Fulton County medical examiner. The cause of death was not immediately available, with a post-mortem yet to be released.

Rich Homie Quan, whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was a key figure in the rise of Atlanta’s trap music scene. His melodic flow and unique sound made him a standout artist, influencing many younger talents in the genre.

He burst onto the scene in 2013 with the explosive hit “Type of Way,” a track that quickly became an anthem and cemented his status in the rap world. Riding high on this success, he kept the energy going by featuring on a YG track alongside Jeezy, and dropped “Lifestyle,” a standout cut produced by London on da Track. This track was released under the banner of his Rich Gang collective, which boasted heavyweights like Young Thug and Birdman.
