Wordz opens up on why “Product Of A Praying Mother” is a special album For Him. Wordz has taken a reflective approach with his album, Product Of A Praying Mother, revealing in a recent interview why this project holds a particularly special place in his heart.

During his interview on DJ Switch’s Podcast, the Pretoria-born rapper reflected on how the album became a turning point in his life. He shared that the project not only opened countless doors for him but also fueled his determination to persevere in the face of the harsh realities of the music industry.

It gave him the strength to keep pushing his craft forward, despite the challenges. “That’s a very special album to me, it kickstarted a lot of things in my life. It also gave me the strength to keep on pushing in this environment of the industry,” he said.

“I’ve to put myself in the space where I believe that the prayers from my mother will help me triumph through all these things that we go through on a daily basis. So I wanted to portray that in my music,” he added.

The 12-track debut album was dropped in 2021 and it is a powerful testament to the transformative impact of faith and the unwavering love of a mother. Wordz included a good list of features on his project with the likes of Maglera Doe Boy, A-Reece, and Thato Saul amongst others.

Building on the success of Product Of A Praying Mother, Wordz dropped People Forget To Be People, a project he described as a turning point in his journey. It was during this time that he began to see the true colours of certain individuals in the industry, revealing sides of people he hadn’t anticipated.

“I made Product Of A Praying Mother while also observing human behaviour because I was going through some things and I had to understand what was going on around me. So I had to study people and understand that this is the type of a person this guy is, or this person is,” Wordz said.
