Loatinover Pounds Weighs In On Staying Indie Or Signing With A Record Label

As his influence grows, the inevitable question has surfaced: will he remain independent, or will he sign with a major record label? The rapper, known for his hit single “123 Block,” recently opened up about his thoughts on the matter, giving fans insight into the next phase of his career.

Loatinover Pounds has built a solid reputation as an independent artist, priding himself on creating music that resonates with his audience without the constraints of a commercial agenda. His grassroots approach, focusing on direct fan engagement and maintaining creative control, has allowed him to carve out a niche for himself. With songs that capture the essence of township life, struggle, and triumph, Loatinover has connected with his listeners in a way that feels personal and real.

However, as his career gains momentum and the spotlight grows brighter, many have wondered whether he will continue on the independent path or take the plunge into the world of record labels for wider distribution and more resources.

In a recent interview on the DEAD Radio Podcast, Loatinover Pounds addressed these concerns head-on. The rapper said that it’s not about him signing with a major record label, but it’s about him having the right people around him.

“For me, it ain’t really about a major, for me, I just feel like I need a good team. Then if I have a good team, whether it’s us or whether there’s a label involved or what but if it’s working for me then we can operate,” said Loatinover Pounds.

The Pretoria-based rapper explained that he’s already mapped out a strategy to grow his brand, so all he needs is a solid team, not necessarily a record label if he decides not to sign with one. “Making music for me, I already produce my music, make my own clothes, so with that, I’m sorted, I just need the right people in the right places,” he added.
