Khuli Chana shared the origin behind the album title, explaining that it was inspired by Maglera’s vision and the concept of their collaboration. “Favela-Levish is inspired by Tokelo and this is how he best described my combo with Maglera,” Khuli revealed. “I’m Levish, he’s Favela, you know. So it’s like ‘Ghetto Fabulous.’ It’s a very powerful combination.”

The rapper explained that this powerful combination was a vision that Maglera saw even before Khuli could imagine it. “It’s a very powerful combination and that’s been his vision, and that was at a time that I couldn’t even imagine it. He spoke it into existence, and we’ve been cooking up,” Khuli Chana continued. “I just have to wait for us to wrap up. I just didn’t know it was time to let them know, so yeah. Now let’s make it a reality.”

This announcement comes as a much-awaited update from the duo, who have been working on their joint project behind the scenes. The name Favela-Levish speaks to a blend of luxury and grit — a concept that aligns with both Khuli Chana’s “Levish” persona, which represents opulence and success, and Maglera’s raw, street-inspired essence symbolized by “Favela.” It’s clear that this collaboration isn’t just about music but a representation of contrasting yet complementary identities.

As for what “Favela-Levish” represents outside of the album, Khuli explained that it’s more than just a title. It’s a property, a vision, and a movement that highlights the duality of the ghetto and high society, merging the gritty reality of the streets with the allure of luxury.

With both artists having their own distinct styles, fans can expect a mix of Khuli’s well-established finesse in the game with Maglera’s youthful energy and creativity. Khuli Chana’s experience, coupled with Maglera’s fresh perspectives, ensures that Favela-Levish will be an album to remember. Fans are eager to see how this “Ghetto Fabulous” blend unfolds, as both artists continue to break boundaries and push the limits of what South African hip-hop can offer.
