Alongside this, he lost valuable possessions, including a million rands worth of clothing, phones, and a Rolex, and was also faced with brutal beatings from drug gangs that prey on addicts in the streets. “I had a million rands worth of clothing, phones, and my Rolex stolen from me. By the grace of God, I beat a charge that could have sent me to prison for six years,” he writes. “This week has been one of the most devastating of my life, but it has also been a turning point.”
