Enigma, whose claims about having direct communication with Jesus have gained both attention and criticism, recently made waves by declaring that Jesus had expressed disapproval of the current lifestyle choices of many people on Earth. He emphasized this in several videos, leaving some believers puzzled and others sceptical about his authenticity.

In most of his more provocative statements, Enigma stated, “uJesu Uthi” (Jesus says), prompting some followers to accept his words as gospel. However, Emtee wasn’t having it. The rapper took to social media to voice his disdain, questioning Enigma’s credibility.

“So just because Enigma said, ‘uJesu Uthi,’ now you also do the same, ‘uJesu athi’?” Emtee said during an interview on the Vuma Nkosiyesizwe podcast adding his tongue-in-cheek twist. “Enigma should explain if Jesus is his friend or what. When did Jesus tell you all that? You can tell he’s not mentally okay.”

Emtee’s remarks come as part of a conversation around Enigma’s controversial rhetoric, which has made many uncomfortable, especially given the unverified nature of his claims. Some of the reactions have been divided, with some suggesting that his interpretation of the scriptures is outdated, citing that many of the ideas Enigma pushes stem from Mosaic laws, laws that Christians believe were nullified through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Emtee’s comment reflects the scepticism many feel regarding Enigma’s authenticity, particularly in a society already grappling with figures who claim to hold the truth without tangible evidence. The rapper’s sharp remarks serve as a reminder that not all public figures with bold claims will get a free pass—especially when they challenge long-held doctrines.
