The visionary behind Cotton Fest, Riky Rick, passed away in 2022, but his spirit continues to echo through every edition of the event. For Moozlie, the festival has become more than just a celebration of music and street culture — it’s a personal tribute. “I do @cottonfestjhb every single year just to celebrate him & revel in the beautiful energy of the Eaters,” she wrote, referencing the loyal and vibrant Cotton Eaters community.

But the post wasn’t just a tribute to the late artist—it was also a salute to the woman who has carried his legacy with strength and grace: Bianca Naidoo. Moozlie gave special mention to Bianca, who appeared in the third slide of her post, writing, “She deserves the world!”

The festival’s return comes hot on the heels of the release of Boss Zonke, Riky Rick’s posthumous album, which Moozlie stated that it will make this year’s Cotton Fest “a BLOCKBUSTER!!
