The Amapiano genre has been creating a significant impact in the music industry, not just in South Africa, but its influence has extended beyond borders, captivating a global audience. During the interview, the 29-year-old rapper and R&B artist remarked that Amapiano, despite its global reach, doesn’t generate much conversation.

“Piano also doesn’t have talkability, Piano is like… I would say chewing gum music. You could have a hit today next week it’s gone,” KLY said. “So you gotta consistently drop, haven’t you noticed that the DJs in Piano are bigger than the artists?”

Despite his somewhat derogatory description of Amapiano, KLY proceeded to praise several sensational Amapiano artists who have been instrumental in sustaining the Yanos wave. “Focalistic, Musa Keys, there’s a couple of n**gs, shout out to Daliwonga. Do you know why I f*ck with Dali so much, he’s an R&B n**gg at heart but he had it with the Piano thing,” KLY added.

KLY is currently mapping his way back into the music industry. This year he managed to collaborate with Mafikizolo and Marumba Pitch on the track titled HELLO. The rapper and R&B star is working on dropping his 12-track album, which will be up on the shelves in 2024.
