J Ecko Opens Up About the Creative Challenge Behind Nasty C’s ‘I Love It Here’ Artwork

J Ecko Opens Up About the Creative Challenge Behind Nasty C’s ‘I Love It Here’ Artwork. In a recent interview, renowned creative director and visual artist J Ecko pulled back the curtain on one of his most creatively demanding projects to date—designing the artwork for Nasty C’s acclaimed album I Love It Here.

When asked about a moment in his career that truly tested his artistic limits, J Ecko didn’t hesitate to mention his collaboration with the award-winning rapper. “Nasty C’s artwork for I Love It Here, because he’s a very creative person,” Ecko shared. “There are things that he wanted to see in the artwork. So for me, that was really hard—to make sure that everything he wants is there.”
Known for his visionary visuals and ability to translate emotion into imagery, Ecko admitted that this particular project came with layers of complexity. Nasty C, having just welcomed a child into the world during the creation of the album, wanted the artwork to reflect a new chapter in his life, not just as an artist, but as a man growing into fatherhood.
“He wanted to tell people he’s a family man,” Ecko revealed. “It was a very difficult one to convey.” The final result, however, was met with widespread praise. Fans appreciated the balance between the rapper’s signature style and the deeply personal undertones subtly threaded throughout the design. It was a visual statement that echoed the album’s introspective tone and the evolution of Nasty C as both a lyricist and a father.
