SA Hip Hop Mag: Last month we had a brief conversation with you about 2025 marking the 13-year anniversary of The Homecoming Album. How do you feel about this milestone, and where are you mentally?

AB Crazy: I feel blessed to actually have a body of work out there. The Homecoming Album is a very special project to me. Mentally, I’m in a good space to make music again — I feel confident.

SA Hip Hop Mag: Did you produce the beat for “Another Chance” yourself, and what kind of sonic experience were you hoping to create with the instrumentation and overall sound?

AB Crazy: Yes, I produced the beat for “Another Chance.” I wanted to go back to the classics because I believe that’s my strength and signature sound. I think people missed that sound — and only I can give it to them. Hip-hop needs a little soul in it, especially in 2025.

SA Hip Hop Mag: The song is described as a reflection on life, loss, and perseverance. Can you share a personal experience that most influenced this track?

AB Crazy: I’ve lost a lot over the years — in business and in my personal life. I also lost a dear friend. But I’ve had to stay strong and still deliver. I’m just grateful for my team and every opportunity that comes my way.

SA Hip Hop Mag: You’ve said “Another Chance” is about finding the courage to start again. What was the hardest part of starting over for you?

AB Crazy: Looking at the state of hip-hop right now, it was either try to fit in with what everyone else is doing or follow my heart. I wasn’t sure if my sound would be well-received in 2025, but I took a chance — and so far, so good.

SA Hip Hop Mag: Sonically, the single blends hip-hop, soul, and R&B. What drew you to that particular fusion for your comeback?

AB Crazy: My love for soul music and my passion for hip-hop. I really love this industry. Another Chance is a reminder to fans of how I came into the game — this is my sound.

SA Hip Hop Mag: Many of your fans connect with your lyrical honesty. How vulnerable was it to put these personal emotions into “Another Chance”?

AB Crazy: I wouldn’t say I was vulnerable, but everyone goes through things in life. As a musician, I want to make music that really speaks to the masses and feels relatable. I expressed myself the best way I know how.

SA Hip Hop Mag: The release mentions gratitude as a big theme. How has your perspective on music — and life — shifted during your time away?

AB Crazy: I feel blessed to have made hits in the industry and still be able to release new music. I genuinely feel like I’ve been given another chance.

SA Hip Hop Mag: The upcoming music video explores transformation and artistic rebirth. Can you give us a sneak peek into the visuals?

AB Crazy: The visuals reflect making it out of any situation that might feel impossible — and giving thanks for another chance at life.

AB Crazy: The message is clear — never give up on your goals and dreams. No matter how long it takes, keep going. And when you finally get there, don’t forget the people who helped you along the way.

SA Hip Hop Mag: Beyond “Another Chance”, should fans expect a larger project, tour, or body of work soon?

AB Crazy: A tour, yes — and a body of work will come a little later. For now, we’re focusing on the singles. When the time is right, we’ll give the people a full album.
