Blxckie Applauds LaCabra After Packed Johannesburg Stop On Independent “MR BULLY Tour.” LaCabra’s independent MR BULLY Tour reached another high point on Friday night as the Durban rapper packed out Jozi Gold Brewing Company in Braamfontein, delivering one of the most memorable stops of a nationwide run that has been gathering momentum across South Africa.
The sold-out Johannesburg show attracted plenty of supporters, including fellow rapper Blxckie, who attended a performance on the tour for the very first time. After soaking in the atmosphere, the award-winning artist shared his admiration for what LaCabra and his team have managed to achieve on their own.
“To have a full house right now and witness this in real time… this is my first time coming to any show on the tour. I’m very proud. You know what I mean? Blxckie’s praise carries added significance given LaCabra’s rapid rise. Born Mxolisi Sibisi and also known as uLaQhasha, the Qwellers co-founder released his debut solo album, MR BULLY, on 27 February 2026 through Qwelfontein Entertainment and Corner Store Records. The 14-track project showcased his signature African trap sound while featuring heavyweight collaborators including A-Reece and Nasty C alongside fellow Qwellers members Lowfeye, Sastii and Blue Pappi.
Instead of relying on the backing of a major label, LaCabra chose to take the project directly to fans through a self-funded tour. Promoting the run with the confident declaration, “with no label I know I can do it,” he mapped out performances in Durban, Ladysmith, Richards Bay, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Orange Farm. The packed Braamfontein show stood as one of the clearest signs yet that the independent approach is paying off.
The moment also highlighted the respect that exists between artists across different generations of South African hip hop. Blxckie and LaCabra previously crossed paths on the 2024 collaboration “Sunroof,” which also featured Lowfeye. Seeing Blxckie attend the show and publicly celebrate LaCabra’s achievement reflected the recognition the new wave of artists is earning from some of the country’s biggest names.
