Cassper Sets Release Date For ‘Lil Mama’ Music Video With Nasty C

Taking to social media early Friday morning, the South African hip-hop heavyweight revealed that he is planning to release the visual on Saturday morning. He also acknowledged that fans are still waiting on R20,000 worth of promised giveaways, explaining that his preparations for the South African Music Awards have kept him occupied.

“Think ima drop the Music video for Lil Mama feat. Nasty C on Saturday Morning. I also owe y’all R20 000 in giveaways, I know. the Samas have been tying me down,” Cassper wrote.

The update follows several days of teasing from the Family Tree boss, who has been openly impressed with the finished product. On Thursday, Cassper described the upcoming visual as “the music video of the year,” calling it creative, fun and “sooooo dope” while asking fans whether they wanted the release on Friday morning.

Earlier in the week, he also teased the possibility of a Friday drop after seeing the first draft of the video, sending anticipation among fans into overdrive.

Released on July 31, “Lil Mama” sees Cassper and Nasty C explore a smooth, melodic sound built around romance, admiration and the joy of spoiling someone special. The collaboration pairs Cassper’s confident delivery with Nasty C’s effortless flow, creating a feel-good track that has already sparked excitement around its visual treatment.

While fans have already had access to a visualizer and lyric video, the official music video has remained the missing piece. Cassper’s latest announcement suggests that the wait is almost over.

His demanding SAMA32 schedule appears to have played a role in the delay. Cassper is set to co-host the 32nd South African Music Awards alongside Zanele Potelwa at Sun City Superbowl on August 15, with rehearsals and preparations keeping him busy ahead of the major ceremony.

Now, with the awards just around the corner, Cassper is promising to give fans something else to look forward to. If his description of the video is anything to go by, “Lil Mama” could arrive with the kind of colourful, playful and energetic visuals that match the song’s mood.

For fans of Cassper and Nasty C, Saturday morning could therefore come with more than just a weekend lie-in. The long-awaited “Lil Mama” music video appears to be ready to make its debut.
