“Shout out to Cassper; he showed us it’s doable. So shout out to him,” Maphorisa said during a live Metro FM interview with Tbo Touch on 3 September 2026, recognising Nyovest’s influence as the Scorpion Kings prepare for their biggest show yet.

The producer, who forms one half of the Scorpion Kings alongside Kabza De Small, is set to take the duo’s celebrated live experience to FNB Stadium on 19 September. The 2026 edition, titled A Family Affair, follows their successful 2025 show at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, which attracted more than 50,000 fans.

This year’s event is expected to draw between 70,000 and 80,000 people, with a major lineup bringing together artists from across South Africa’s music landscape.

Cassper’s influence on the stadium concert conversation is difficult to overlook. In 2017, the rapper made history with Fill Up FNB Stadium, attracting a confirmed crowd of 68,000 people. The achievement came without relying on international headliners and followed previous editions of the Fill Up series at the Ticketpro Dome and Orlando Stadium.

His approach demonstrated that local artists could headline some of the country’s biggest venues and bring thousands of fans through the gates on their own strength.

Cassper Nyovest appeared to receive Maphorisa’s acknowledgement in good spirits, responding to the producer’s comments with a simple heart emoji.

The exchange also arrives during a period when conversations around stadium attendance figures and major concert claims have once again become a talking point in South African music. Against that backdrop, Maphorisa’s public recognition of Nyovest carries added significance.

More importantly, the moment reflects how one artist’s ambition can influence the next generation. Cassper’s Fill Up movement helped reshape expectations around what South African artists could achieve on home soil, while Scorpion Kings Live represents another major step in that evolution through the power of amapiano.

With FNB Stadium now in their sights, Maphorisa and Kabza De Small are preparing to turn their biggest stage yet into a celebration of South African music and culture.
