Dolphin DX Sets The Table For New Single “Breakfast.” Dolphin DX is preparing to serve up new music as he announces his upcoming single “Breakfast”, bringing together MSI, Grey Hlobani and Orish for a collaborative release.
The Empangeni-born artist, whose real name is Andile Lusanda Xulu, shared the news on social media with a message to his supporters, confirming that “Breakfast” is scheduled to arrive on 23 September 2026. He also tagged MSI, Grey Hlobani, Orish and producer 50 Stacks Magnolia while teasing another release already in the works.
“Good morning Family and friends 🫂❤️ It’s about time to eat 🍴 Breakfast dropping on 23rd of September 🐬🙏🇿🇦,” Dolphin DX wrote. He followed the announcement with another intriguing message, saying that “the Dinner is coming too.”
The announcement is accompanied by striking cover artwork featuring a 3D-rendered figure dressed in a purple double-breasted suit, white shirt and patterned tie. The figure is also pictured wearing glasses and a gold ring, with one hand covering his mouth. The artwork carries the title “BREAKFAST” in bold graffiti-style lettering, alongside the featured artists and production credit.
“Breakfast” brings together artists with different connections to South Africa’s hip-hop landscape. MSI, also known as Demon Njibal, is associated with the Umlazi and wider KwaZulu-Natal trap scene, while Grey Hlobani, whose real name is Hlobani Langa, has built his identity around Durban street culture and Zulu-infused hip-hop.
Orish, born Sibulele Mela, adds a Cape Town perspective to the collaboration. The Gugulethu artist has worked across multiple areas of music, including rapping, production and engineering, with his sound often incorporating heavy 808s and melodic elements.
Production on the track comes from 50 Stacks Magnolia, who completes the lineup behind the collaboration. For Dolphin DX, “Breakfast” continues a run that has seen him explore different sounds across hip-hop, Zulu rap, Afro-pop and R&B. His previous work, including the Nodumehlezi EP and tracks such as “Lapisa”, has helped establish his presence within the growing South African hip-hop scene.
