Buzzi Lee Celebrates Birthday With New Single ‘Abracadabra’ Featuring Mochen & Reason. Pretoria rapper Buzzi Lee has marked her birthday with new music, releasing her latest single “Abracadabra” while giving listeners a preview of what to expect from her upcoming EP, Bontle.
The SePitori rapper took to social media on 9 October to announce the double celebration, sharing her excitement about the single’s arrival coinciding with her birthday. “It’s ‘Abracadabra’ day and also My Birthday, 9/10,” she wrote, inviting listeners to join the celebrations.
Buzzi Lee also turned the occasion into a call for support, asking listeners to stream “Abracadabra,” share the track and record videos of themselves enjoying the song as a birthday gift to her. She promised to return the gesture with a new project, writing, “And my gift to you is my new EP ‘Bontle’ coming very soon, which you can pre-save using the link in my bio.”
“Abracadabra” brings together Buzzi Lee, Mochen RSA, and Reason, also known as Sizwe Alakine, with MashBeatz handling production. The release also reunites Buzzi Lee with MashBeatz following their collaboration on the award-winning “Never Ride (Remix).”
Born Bontle Makhwelo, Buzzi Lee has built her name in South African hip-hop through her distinctive SePitori delivery and versatility across different sounds. Tracks such as “Sho Boy” and “Pheli Via Church” have contributed to her catalogue, helping establish her connection to Pretoria’s hip-hop scene.
The upcoming Bontle EP is another significant step in her musical journey. Named after her real name, the project offers an opportunity for the rapper to present more of her identity through a body of work that listeners can anticipate following the release of “Abracadabra.”
With snippets of the single already circulating, including a preview of Reason’s verse, the collaboration has given listeners an early taste of the track. Buzzi Lee is now encouraging her audience to take the next step by streaming the full release and creating their own videos with the song.
As she begins another year of life, Buzzi Lee has given listeners new music to celebrate with her while building anticipation for Bontle. The EP is expected soon, with its pre-save link available through her social media bio.
