Emtee On The One Reason He Hasn’t Reached The Peak In His Career Yet
Emtee On The One Reason He Hasn’t Reached The Peak In His Career Yet. Multi Award winning rapper Emtee has dominated over the years as one of South Africa’s most successful Hip-Hop artists. From his days at Ambitiouz to being signed to himself under Emtee Records he has kept a loyal fan base, but says he feels there is still one thing holding him back.
A fan of the Laqasha rapper‘s took to Twitter to express that they felt he should be one of the greatest Hip-Hop artists in the world because he is so good. Many of Emtee’s fans certainly share the same sentiments. Emtee responded writing that the one reason that can’t happen is because there are people who are paying to make sure that it doesn’t happen.
“How when there’s people working hard and paying for that to never happen?“.
After leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment, Emtee was open about the fact that there was allegedly very little support from the label for the artists. He also claimed that the popular record label kept his awards from him. In an interview with MacG he had revealed how much he was allegedly being paid from the label.
Emtee mentioned that he was receiving a fixed monthly salary instead of also being compensated for his gigs and the amount was less than R20 000. He also mentioned that his salary never stayed the same and he was never told by the label how much they charged club owners for a gig.
Emtee released his brand new album Logan in April 2021 and received a huge amount of support from his peers in the SA Hip Hop industry. The 16-track album only had a few features and included Moozlie, Lolli Native, Flash iKumkani, J-Smash, and Gwamba. He has been touring South Africa and recently visited Namibia performing tracks from the album.
