“He’s Almost Like Shy On His Own Album,” Muchi On Emtee’s Latest Project
“He’s Almost Like Shy On His Own Album,” Muchi On Emtee’s Latest Project. Emtee following his departure from his record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment went on to drop his album, Logan. The album has been well received by fans and features tracks such as Wave, Brand New Day and Johustleburg. On the album, fans get a perspective of where the trapper is in his life and career following his public split from the label. Logan is also the album Emtee dropped under his own label and gives fans a view of the direction he is taking for his own career, under his own direction.
The reviews for the project are mixed and on the latest episode of the POPcast, host Muchi (Sipho Muchindu) revealed his thought on the album. Muchi whilst he praised Emtee’s body of work made it clear that he had expected more from the rapper. Muchi explained that Emtee coming from the situation that he did was meant to show his critics exactly who he is with his album and not be so humble.
“Emtee doesn’t make bad music, it’s almost impossible for him to do that. He’s just very musically and sonically the guy who understands that thing, understands hooks, understands the beat. It was very mellow the album that he dropped and I thought mellow wasn’t the way for him to go. Because he’s the guy who was trying to almost get back and show that listen Ambitiouz they had a bad relationship with those guys leaving there but I was at my peak with those guys but I can still rise up and show that I can bring the energy I can make those hit records. Those catchy tunes that are so dope and then it’s like he fell back and it’s like he’s almost shy on his own album to be like step up and be like you know what. You gotta throw the middle finger up to ambitiouz when you leave and say alright you guys did me dirty let me show you guys that I can do this by myself and I feel like he digressed it didn’t show a lot of ambition in his latest project and yeah maybe he will get it back.”
Muchi also shared, “He’s a very talented artist, Emtee is a very talented guy and you know when you wonder. There are certain artists that need a lot of management, they need direction they need people who are on the team who are focused more focused than they are because their thing is just the music. When they are left in charge of their entire brand they don’t know what to hold and what to let go of. Emtee I feel like is that guy who I hope gets that thing because the current album that he released is not bad.”
