The American recording hip hop duo, Rae Sremmurd was formed in 2013 in Tupelo, Mississippi. It consists of two brothers, Khalif Brown and Aaquil Brown born on 29 December 1993. The duo are best known for their platinum singles such as “No Flex Zone” and “No Type”; which peaked at numbers 36 and 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Both singles have been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The duo won the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award at the 2015 BET Awards. 5. The duo had been working for several years under the moniker “Dem Outta St8 Boyz”, producing music at home and playing at local parties in their mom’s basement and bars.

6. They used money from their part-time jobs to be able to partake in travelling and auditioning in contests.

7. Dem Outta St8 Boyz signed with Ear Drummers Entertainment on January 1, 2014, after signing a deal, the group changed its name to Rae Sremmurd.

8. Rae Sremmurd released their debut album, SremmLife, on January 6, 2015. The album debuted at number 5 on the US Billboard 200.
