A Dark Space As SA Rappers Mourn The Passing Of DJ Dimplez. A dark cloud is hovering around the SA hip-hop industry. Following the passing away of DJ Citi Lyts and Riky Rick, DJ Dimplez has become the third hip-hop star to kick the bucket. Dimplez was reportedly transported to the hospital after becoming ill at his house on Saturday, and he succumbed the next day.
The family spokesperson confirmed that the Amantombazane hitmaker suffered a sudden brain haemorrhage. It’s another big loss to the SA hip hop industry which is still mourning the passing of Boss Zonke recently.
The award-winning DJ contributed a lot to SA hip hop with many hits to his name along with Amantombazane remix which he co-wrote with the late Riky Rick. Dimplez fostered and helped promote countless hip-hop and emerging artists, and he was the driving force behind the famed Pop Bottles event and the popular PopCast podcast.
The devastating news has made SA rappers take to social media to pay their last respect to their hip-hop peer. Rappers have also heaped praises on the impact DJ Dimplez made on the game and how he will be deeply missed.
