Lolli Native Shares His Experience Working With Emtee Under “Emtee Records”
Lolli Native Shares His Experience Working With Emtee Under “Emtee Records.” Hailing from Capetown, Lolli Native has made his name in the SA hip hop scene through his street raps. The rapper became the first artist to be signed by Emtee under Emtee Records.
Lolli Native revealed to TshisaLIVE how it has been with him working with Emtee as the only artist signed at the record label. Prior to the release of his highly anticipated album “Ivangeli,” Lolli stated the role Emtee played to make sure that they deliver the best sound.
The Capetown rapper expressed that working with Emtee has been a dream come true for him. “Working with Emtee was a dream come true. Being signed under him has been amazing and being able to be in studio with him, getting his feel and getting his thoughts on the music I put down, was amazing,” he said as per TshisaLIVE.
Given the number of people that write to The Hustler imploring him to listen to their music, the “Andapende” chanter acknowledged his gratitude to be working with a well-decorated rapper in Emtee. “I check his inbox sometimes and I see how many people want him to listen to their song, just to listen, and just I feel privileged and I feel I’ve been having a lot of input of how to move, how to communicate and how to read situations in the game and how to manoeuvre. I’m forever grateful to Emtee for the opportunity.” Said Lolli Native.
Lolli Native‘s album Ivangeli was released a few weeks ago, and he defined it as a ghetto gospel narrating stories from his hometown. “The whole project is about a message for me. One of the songs that describe what I’m trying to portray is called Iyanga, so Iyanga is where I’m from. I feel like a lot of people support Iyanga, a lot of people look up to me. Not dropping this album the way I wanted to or portray the message I wanted, there was a lot of people I would’ve let down, so the structure and feel of the album was important.” He said.
