SJava Reveals How Long It Took Him To Make The “Isibuko” Album. Sjava kickstarted the year on a high as he went on to reap the rewards of his work following the release of the long-awaited Isibuko album.
Not only did he deliver a soul-soothing music project, but Sjava also managed to create a platform to collaborate with other artists on his album. This made the album bring different flavours of sound making an authentic project in SA music.
Speaking during an interview with Slikour, Sjava was asked by one of the fans through the social media comments on how long it took him to make the Isibuko album. “How long did it take to create this beautiful mess piece album?” Asked one of his fans who was referred to as Wandile.
In response, the rapper stated that it takes time, but that there is no set time frame because some of the vocals were recorded five years ago and some earlier. “It took time you know, but I wouldn’t say there’s a certain period. But what we do is we always record you understand, there are songs even on this project that were made in 2018 some hooks were made in 2019. It’s like a whole journey, it’s not like we back to the studio working on this.“
He stated that when he was not renowned, they would devote all of their attention to music production. But now that they have other commitments, it takes time to complete an album. “You must remember before we blew up we had all the time to go to the studio, then when you blew up you are on the road you are doing this, you doing that, so you don’t get time now to say I’m not going to do gigs for six months I’m working on my album,” he said.
“So what you do now you go once a week, twice a week, share something, sometimes just listen to beats, sometimes just be there. But i never like stopped, i never just make music, i plan, i think, sometimes I’m like okay on this song what do we need,” he added.
