Lucasraps Responds To A Question Of Whether He Values Music Awards
Lucasraps Responds To A Question Of Whether He Values Music Awards. In the majority of situations, music awards in the South African music business have been contentious. Fans and musicians have both expressed outrage about how some artists have not been getting the much-deserved respect.
Lucasraps received four nominations for the SA Hip Hop Awards last year, but he only received one award for his contribution to Never Ride Remix. Speaking on the BIT90 Podcast interview, the Durban-native rapper was asked on whether music awards mean anything to him. “South African Hip-hop Awards four nominations, do awards mean anything to you?”
In response, Lucasraps said that he values the awards to a certain extent, but he also argued that they will limit the level of an artist. “I don’t really know, maybe yes to a certain extent because I mean it does look cool, its feels good to have one,” he said.
“At the same time, it limits your level of yourself, because if you are worrying about awards or whatever it won’t come to you, you don’t worry about awards. The real goal is to just focus on the music,” he added. Lucasraps is on the verge of dropping a new album and he has expressed how super excited about his forthcoming project.
The rapper has revealed some big-name rappers that he has featured on the project with the likes of Emtee and Saudi making the nod. “Im even nervous to speak, I got Emtee on the project, I got Saudi, I got Guaps you know. Just know a project coming soon, just remember dance is coming soon and it’s gonna make you realise this broer is waking up,” he said.
