DJ Clen Defends A-Reece Amid Criticism Over AKA’s Mass Country Album Exclusion

The SA rap game will never get to see AKA and A-Reece, two of the biggest rappers on a song together following the passing of the former. Taking to Twitter, Tkay shared a picture which showed that A-Reece was part of AKA’s Mass Country project.

However due to missing stems from Reece’s verse, the Paradise hitmaker could not feature on the Supa Mega’s project. This revelation has sparked all sorts of opinions on the social media timeline on why AKA’s camp did not reach out for stems from A-Reece.

DJ Clen defended Reece on Twitter, claiming that A-Reece recorded his verse but stems were not given since AKA and his crew had not responded on whether they were impressed by the verse. “I think Tkay is showing that a verse was recorded and sent through but no one asked for the stems (Maybe they didn’t want the verse anymore or they weren’t planning to drop the song at that time) but it’s not advisable to send stems until the next person is happy with the song.” Tweeted Clen.

Clen’s comments about the matter led one of his followers to speculate that A-Reece may have been left out of Mass Country because his verse was poor. “So that verse might have been whack for them to not want it… Personally I’m glad it was never released, if AKA didn’t think it was good enough who am I to complain?” Read the tweet.

DJ Clen’s public declaration of support for Reece stands out as a significant gesture and he refuted that the reason Reece was left out is because he had a wack verse. The Pretoria-based DJ argued that the fellow rapper is one of the best in the game and will always deliver on big moments. And working with AKA was no exception.

Reece is not “every artist” He’s the Josè Mourhino of this sh*t I’m sorry but he’s a GOAT. Why the verse didn’t make it. We don’t know but it’s definitely not cause it’s whack. Ebile you might find hore it was the best. Ake lwane. I’m just stating the obvious.” Wrote Clen.
