AKA Mom, ‘Lynn Forbes Opens Up About AKA’s Will. The demise of AKA has not only stirred profound emotions within the South African music industry and the rapper’s family, but it has also given rise to a prevailing sense of uncertainty surrounding the fate of the rapper’s brand.
Questions loom about who will take charge of managing his projects and overseeing the entirety of his brand. Addressing that, AKA‘s mother Lynn Forbes told the publication that they have been working with ZazyBoy but they have to stop because the rapper left a will that clarifies how he wants his things to be done.
“When it comes to the AKA brand, so we were still working with Zazy because there was a lot of project that was still in the running but at some point, we just decided to halt it and stop it because and I will tell you why,” AKA’s mother said. “There’s a will, there’s an executive, there’s all that stuff that had to be sorted out first and what we are actually doing now is that the executive is now within the family.”
Lynn Forbes emphasized that while the executive responsibilities remain within the family, she indicated openness to working with Zazyboy. Additionally, she mentioned rekindling some of the business connections AKA had established with specific brands.
“At the moment we have to restart conversations with Zaz, and maybe we can have another conversation with Cruz. I wanna kinda go back, maybe we should be a new something with Reebok, I’m just putting these things (suggestions). So what we are doing as a family is we’re trying to reignite some of the relationships that worked in the past and that Kiernan was passionate about. 2024 will be the restart of a lot of things,” Glamy said.
