Nadia Nakai On How Cyberbullying Inspired Her Dive Into Cosmetics Business. Nadia Nakai recently revealed how her experiences with cyberbullying played a significant role in her decision to venture into the cosmetics industry.
During an exclusive interview with TRUE LOVE, the 33-year-old artist celebrated for her vibrant impact on the music scene, candidly discussed the hurdles she encountered online. Bragga reflected on enduring harsh critiques and disparaging remarks regarding her appearance, with a particular emphasis on critiques targeting her facial looks.
Nadia Nakai told the publication that she was criticized for going on a date without makeup and that criticism made her learn how to wear make-up and grow into knowing cosmetic products. “Many many years ago, I trended on social media for not having makeup on. It was Valentine’s Day [and] I went on a date with my boyfriend then and I didn’t have makeup on and I didn’t have a wig on and I had my natural hair and it was tied back and the picture was very unflattering, start there, because I actually do look pretty without makeup. But I think my face was in between a facial expression, so I looked like Shrek.
“So, I trended and that really broke me. And I got to a place where I wouldn’t even go grocery shopping without makeup on my face and I had to force myself to learn how to do basic makeup. And then I got into it and even though the way it started was probably very heartbreaking and sore, it kind of evolved into just being able to learn how to just do my own makeup sometimes and not just from what I went through but also just expense-wise. Glam squads are expensive!” She told TRUE LOVE.
In December, the Money Back hitmaker unveiled her makeup line, Naked Without, describing the launch as one of the most fulfilling moments of her life as she continues to live out her dreams. “I’m Screaming! I’ve worked so hard to get this product where it is! And now it’s finally here! I’m so excited for this next chapter! lol can you tell!?? And please bear with me, I’m learning as I go… No brand partnership, THIS is all me!!!! Love you guys!” Nadia Nakai said.
