The Jozi-born rapper did not deliver the album all by himself, but with the help of collaborations with other artists, “Ceasar” has emerged as a meticulously curated and polished body of work. However, the collaboration with Oscar Mbo appeared to be a surprise to some as Big Star Johnson utilised the musical prowess of the DJ in his raps.

Speaking during an interview on PopRadio with DJ Ms Cosmo, the Pablo hitmaker said that his decision to work with Oscar Mbo was very intentional as he was aiming to create a different energy that suited his musical prowess.

“So with this album, one thing I was very intentional about was to create my own pocket and then invite people into it. So we created the record “Look Around” and I felt like there’s only one who can give me a proper co-sign and sign it off and be like this is a good, not deep house but the sound I’m attempting to create does he get it because it’s influenced by the staff he works with most of the time. When I sent him the record, he was like Bro just touch up one, two, three, but this is money bro,” Big Star said.

Big Star further emphasized that his collaboration with Oscar was immensely rewarding, along with his experiences working with every artist featured on his album. He emphasized his admiration for each collaborator, noting that he’s a genuine fan of their music and regularly listens to their work.

“It was dope, the encounters I’ve had with him, the conversations that we’ve had about music even. I can tell how much he loves it and respects it, the struggle he had to go through, and his story, it just made sense with this project. Everyone who I worked with on this album with, I’m a fan first, I actually bump you, I actually play your music,” he added.
