Maglera Doe Boy Shares His Coping Mechanism For Dealing With Anxiety. In recent times, the South African music scene has seen artists bravely speaking out about their struggles with anxiety and depression.
Sadly, this trend highlights the reality of mental health challenges within the industry, as evidenced by the tragic loss of one of its iconic figures, Riky Rick, to a severe mental health condition. Maglera Doe Boy is one of the latest SA rappers who recently opened up about his struggles with moments of depression and how he navigates through them.
Taking to Twitter, Maglera said that when he feels the going is getting tough he lit up white candles and talks to God until the tears run down his face. “Black people. Genuine ask. What makes you pick yourself up and keep going when life feels heavy on your shoulders? I buy white candles and speak to my guides and God until the tears flow down my face.” Maglera Doe Boy said.
In another post, the renowned rapper expressed that the ultimate remedy for overcoming life’s challenges is to pray fervently, envisioning one’s ancestors advocating on their behalf in the realms above. “Gotta pray so hard the tears fall down your face and the candle dances like your ancestors are dancing for you in heaven.” He added.
Maglera has experienced his fair share of challenges while growing up in the township of Kanana, l in Freestate. However, despite his newfound fame, it doesn’t imply that he has surmounted all of life’s obstacles. Instead, he continues to seek methods to overcome each battle he encounters in his journey.
